Stolen car with damaged windows found on county road

RICHMOND — A car that was reported stolen Wednesday was later found on Stoney Run Road with its windows and windshield damaged, according to the Richmond police.

A resident in the 700 block of North Third Street reported at 7:15 a.m. that his 2000 Ford Taurus had been stolen during the night.

The keys had been left inside the unlocked car, according to the RPD.

At 11:17 p.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s Department found the car after a resident on Stoney Run Road reported that the vehicle was off the roadway with the motor running and the lights on.

The side windows of the car had been broken, and the windshield was shattered, according to the RPD. No suspects were found in the area.
