The Berea College Theatre Laboratory continues its 2009-10 season with William Shakespeare's King Lear, 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturdady in McGaw Theatre of the Jelkyl Building.
King Lear follows the story of an aging king who decides to divide his realm among his three daughters. When the favored daughter, Cordelia, refuses to flatter him, she is disinherited and banished, and Lear's nightmare begins.
The Actors from the London Stage is a traveling troupe of five who perform Shakespeare's plays in their entirety with minimal set and costume pieces.
While at Berea, the troupe will visit classes and work with students in a variety of subjects.
Tickets range from $5 to $10 and can be reserved by calling 985-3300 Monday through Friday, 1 to 5 p.m., and one hour prior to curtain.
Reservations are advised, said Deborah Martin of the theatre laboratory, because all shows are expected to be sold out.
A sign-interpreted performance is scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday.
