Berea Methodist Church holiday bazaar scheduled Nov. 14

Members of the Berea United Methodist Church have been busy recently making pumpkin rolls and peanut brittle for their annual holiday bazaar.

“Mark your calendars and come early Nov. 14 to the parish house on Fee Street for all your favorites,” said Wanda Lombardo, one of the organizers. A continental breakfast will be available early in the morning and we'll have Leonard's chili, grilled cheese sandwiches, hot dogs and desserts for lunch.”

In addition to the delicious jellies and baked goods the bazaar will include a white elephant sale, silent auction, paperback books, scroll saw Christmas ornaments, baskets, and many other items for sale.

The bazaar is sponsored by the Berea United Methodist Women, (BUMW) but the entire church gets involved, Lombardo said.

“Church members help with workshops, working during the bazaar, donating items to be sold, coming by to have breakfast or lunch, and purchasing items during the day of the bazaar,” she said.

Proceeds from the bazaar are used by the BUMW during the year on mission, church and local community projects. Ten percent of the proceeds are immediately donated to BUURR (Bereans United for Utility and Rent Relief) each year.
