“Art…A Spiritual Gift” is inviting Kentucky artists to submit original artwork for this first annual juried exhibit of spiritual art at Richmond’s Episcopal Church of Our Saviour
The early submission deadline is March 1, according to information provided by the church. The exhibit is set open with an Apirl 5 reception.
“Art…A Spiritual Gift” is open to Kentucky artists with works in watercolor, oil and acrylic, mixed-media and on paper (pencil, graphite and pastel.)
Jurors will select art with respect to exhibit’s mission statement and the inspirational, spiritual, and religious aspect of the work(s) submitted.
The mission statement is based on Psalms 96:9, “Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.”
“The Episcopal Church of Our Saviour finds great significance in, and treasures, art in our spiritual formation and development,” said the Rev. Richard Burden, the church’s pastor, “and we seek to encourage local and regional artists to share their gifts for visual art for building up of the spiritual life of Madison County.”
The jurors will include:
• Ronald Gosses, a Richmond based designer and artist, whose work has exhibited across America, including New York Galleries
• Pat Banks is a veteran roster artist with the Kentucky Arts Council, KPAN advisor, Visual Artist at the Market and member of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen.
• Dr. Patrick Tuck, director of arts at the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour and assistant professor of music at the University of the Cumberlands.
Monetary awards will be given in three categories: Watercolor, oils and acrylics; Mixed media; and On paper.

‘Entangled Lives’ to be presented Saturday at Berea College
