First annual county Christmas Choir Celebration is scheduled for Dec. 16

RICHMOND — All choirs, ensembles, soloists and instrumentalists are invited to be a part of the first annual Madison County Christmas Choir Celebration on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 16 at the EKU Center for the Arts.

“This extraordinary opportunity is open to all and is free to participate and attend,” said the Rev. Howard Miller, one of the organizers. “We plan to have an excellent mixture of church and community choirs, vocal soloists and instrumentalists offering to share their gifts and bring the Madison County community together in this new and fantastic concert venue.

“Please consider this opportunity to share your talent or your ensemble’s talent with the community as we celebrate the joyful sounds of the holiday season.”

Risers, a piano, electronic keyboards, drum sets, amps and amplifiers will be provided for all groups to use.

After a line-up of participants is formalized, additional information will be provided pertaining to rehearsal time in the space, mass choir selections, and how to help spread the word about the celebration, Miller said.

To participate, send an email to Rob James, Chair, EKU Department of Music, at rob.james@eku.edu by Nov. 1.

Information also can be obtained by called calling 622-3266.

  • Anthony-Phelps.jpg We are complete in Him, Who is one with the Father

If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
