Shannon Halcomb, age 76, wife of Hobert Halcomb of Paint Lick, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, in her home.
Shannon graduated from Berea High School in 1955 and was a graduate of Fugazzi Business College. While in college she worked for Dr. Dwight Blackburn in Berea. Upon graduating from Fugazzi, she was a bookkeeper for the Berea Sewer Commission and worked later as branch manager for Peoples Bank. She was then employed at Pennington Realty as bookkeeper. She was a long time member of the Westside Baptist Church, where she was director of Children’s Church.
Shannon is survived by: her husband, Hobert Halcomb of Paint Lick; her children, Doug Himes, Lisa Himes (Bill) Kirk, Diane (Mike) Williams, Mary (Don) Watts and Kaye (William) King; her 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Livingood and Rev. George Waddle officiating. Burial will be in the Berea Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roy Gene Todd, Frank Himes, Larry Gurgen, Francis Boggs, Joe Merritt and Bobby Combs.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born April 25, 1926, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Cleveland Perkins Sr., and Lena Lowery Perkins.
Mr. Perkins was a member of the Fountain Park Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in WWII and served as constable in the 8th district from 1957-1961. -

She was born on May 6, 1931, in Berea, Kentucky, and lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents, Ella and Harry Lamb. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Oswald Lamb who died when Betty was a child. -

Mrs. Lange was born in Winchester, Ky., on Sept. 18, 1939, to the late J.B. and Ruth Esther Black Hatton. -
