Stephen McIntyre, 55

RICHMOND — Stephen Joseph McIntyre, 55, of Richmond, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.

He was born in Ashland, Kentucky, on July 7, 1957, the son of John and Alene Huff McIntyre.  Steve has served as a deputy sheriff in Boyd County and worked in communications with the Ashland Police Dept. He was a retired Criminal Justice instructor from Eastern Kentucky University.

Steve was a member of First Baptist Church and liked collecting military and law enforcement patches. He enjoyed reading, aircraft shows and history.

Survivors include his wife, Valerie Rodkey McIntyre; two nephews, David and Jeff McIntyre.

He was preceded in death by one brother, John McIntyre.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at First Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Fort and Rev. Steve Coleman officiating.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Horn, Ron Boyd, Keith Stinson, Mike Reagle, Ronnie Godsey, Mike Keyser, Jason Pirtle, Dave McIntyre and Jeff McIntyre.

Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of the First Baptist Church.

The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
