RICHMOND —
John Anderson Johns, 76, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012, in his home.
He was born August 9, 1936, in Richmond, Ky., to George K. and Phebe Warner Johns, both of whom preceded him in death.
John was a retired employee of Uncle Charlie’s Meats, having served for more than 40 years. He was of the Baptist faith and was an avid fan of University of Kentucky athletics.
John is survived by his loving wife, Rose Sallee Johns of Richmond, and one son, Keith Johns (Sue) of Berea. He is also survived by: two sisters, Ella Casey and Ann Spotnagle; two brothers, Pastor Bradley Johns and Hugh Johns, his twin; two grandchildren, Jason Johns (Michelle) and Jaaron Johns, as well as his great-grandchildren, SheaLee, Jaycie, MaKenzie and Kenadie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Florence Johns and five brothers, George Jr., Roscoe, Billy Joe, Ed and James.
Services for Mr. Johns will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Sarver officiating. Burial will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
