RICHMOND —
Robert Earl “Bobby” Martin, 69, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, after arrival at Baptist Health.
He was born on March 14, 1943, in Richmond, to Charles and Annie Parrish Martin, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was a retired electrician and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in Korea, Germany and three campaigns in Vietnam. He had faithfully served from 1960 to 1974, receiving several medals, including the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm. Mr. Martin was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by: one son, Gregory Keith Martin of Richmond; two daughters, Deirdre Martin and Anita (Kelvin) Givens, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, Rosetta (John) Maupin, of Erlanger, Ella Martin and Viola Ballard, both of Richmond; three grandchildren, Kennedi, MacKenzie and Nicholas Givens, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; an aunt, Pauline (Otha) Chenault; a special friend, Sondra Blanton; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: two grandchildren, Zachary and Nathaniel Givens; one sister, Mary South; and two brothers, Charles Martin Jr. and William Curly Minter; and one half-brother, William Tally Martin.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2012, at the Pine Street Church of God, M.P.G. of T., with Rev. Floyd Ballew officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church.

Cleveland “June” Perkins Jr., 87
Cleveland “June” Perkins Jr., 87, husband of 63 years to Ima Jean Horn Perkins, died Monday, May 20, 2013.
He was born April 25, 1926, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Cleveland Perkins Sr., and Lena Lowery Perkins.
Mr. Perkins was a member of the Fountain Park Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in WWII and served as constable in the 8th district from 1957-1961. -

She was born on May 6, 1931, in Berea, Kentucky, and lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents, Ella and Harry Lamb. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Oswald Lamb who died when Betty was a child. -
