Marvin Mason, 76

RICHMOND — Marvin Gene Mason, 76, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012, in his home.

He was born on June 30, 1936, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Charles and Jessie Tevis Mason. He was a retired employee of Westinghouse and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Effie Mason; one son, Marvin Mason Jr.; three daughters, Barbara Johnson, Donna Drummond (Robert) and Betty Felts (Doug); three grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Darrell Johnson and Darrin Felts; three great-grandchildren, Alex Johnson, Kaitlyn Johnson and Austin Johnson; three step great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Travis and Jonathon Mazerick.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Mason and Jimmy Durbin.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathon Tussey officiating.

Burial will follow in the Madison Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Darrin Felts, Michael Johnson, Darrell Johnson, Alex Johnson, Clay Tussey and Mitchell Smith.

    She was born on March 16, 1926 in Laurel County, the youngest of five children, born to the late William Albert and Nora Bowman Warren.

    He was born April 12, 1926, in Rockcastle County to Charles and Pearl Day Thacker, both of whom preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine Hutchinson Thacker, and one daughter, Brenda Kay Dargavell.
