RICHMOND —
Ned Hammons, 92, widower of Vencia Hammons, passed away early Saturday, September 29, 2012, in the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.
Mr. Hammons was born on March 6, 1920, to the late Lee and Mollie Hale Hammons and was a retired accountant. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was the recipient of a Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Clusters. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, D.A.V., and a Scottish Rite Mason.
Survivors include: his daughter, Beverly Dyehouse (Billy), and his granddaughter, Sydney Dyehouse, both of Richmond.
A private graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, October 2, at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
