RICHMOND —
Georgia Faye Jenkins Salyer, 91, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 16, 2013, in Richmond, Ky.
She was born in Dante, Va. on December 12, 1921, daughter of the late John V. and Rosa M. Stokes Jenkins.
Mrs. Salyer was a homemaker, member of Ida Baptist Church and had been a resident of Gate City, Virginia, until five years ago when she moved to Richmond.
Survivors include one son, Bobby F. Salyer and his wife Annelle; two grandchildren, Benjamin E. (Amy) Salyer, Rebekah L. (Christopher) Fitzpatrick; three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob and Bella Fitzpatrick; two brothers, Calvin H. Jenkins, Robert H. (Ann) Jenkins; one sister, Joyce J. Salyer; two sisters-in-law, Dana S. Jenkins, Kathleen S. Salyer; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ben F. Salyer Jr.
Funeral services were conducted at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, Va. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, with Rev. Toby Reed officiating. Private burial was in Holston View Cemetery.
