RICHMOND —
Lillian Simpson Means (Grevis Good), 64, of Richmond, passed away March 12, 2013, in her Richmond home following a four-year battle with breast cancer.
She was born in Richmond, Ky., November 10, 1948, and graduated from Madison High School in Richmond.
She was owner of several small businesses throughout her life, including a trucking company, an antique store that allowed her to pursue and share her love of antiques, a custom window-treatment business that showcased her skills as a seamstress, and most recently, she enjoyed working at Lowe’s in Richmond as a sales associate. There she befriended many of her co-workers which she often referred to as her “Lowe’s family.”
She was a member of Harvest Time Worship Center where her husband, Robert Means, serves as pastor. She also was a proud Kentucky Colonel.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Della B. Long Simpson, and her sister, Charlene Simpson Minerich. She is survived by: her loving husband, Robert Means; her father, Reather Simpson; one daughter, Andrena Eversole Sanchez (Gene); and one son, Tony Eversole of Richmond.
She also leaves: two brothers, James Edward Simpson (Ruth Ann) of Lexington and Willard Thomas Simpson (Debbie) of Richmond; five sisters, Wilma Smith (Ernie) of Richmond, Myrtle Lovell of Georgetown, Carol Adkinson (Michael) and Doris Gray Lane (Russell), all also of Richmond; one granddaughter, Miranda Oliver; and one grandson, Dawson Sanchez.
Services will be conducted at noon Friday, March 15, 2013, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Richmond Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Thomas, Gene Sanchez, Ryan Means, Robert Johns, Jerry Gray, Johnny Harold and Casey O’Grady. O’Grady will serve as the honorary bearer.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Friday, March 15, at the funeral home.
