RICHMOND —
Robert M. Rasmusson “Bob” passed away on October 11, 2012, at the age of 71.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Gail P. (Hampson) Rasmusson; two children, Robert S. Rasmusson and wife Christine (Lazor) of Portland, Ore., and Kathryn G. and husband Darren Norton, of Richmond. He is the proud grandfather of three amazing grandchildren, Nicholas R., Rebecca M. and Emily K. Norton.
As the eldest child of Marvin H. and Tyra A. (Larson) Rasmusson, he is survived by his sister, Diane B. and husband James Rose, of Camden, Maine, and his many beloved nephews and nieces.
Bob was a graduate of the University of Vermont with a degree in industrial engineering. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and ROTC. He was a member of the Lutheran Faith.
Bob was employed by the Okonite company for 32 years. For 10 years, Bob was the Madison County Solid Waste coordinator. He brought recycling education into the local school system and was an active member of SWAK and revived the Kentucky Riversweep at Boonesboro. In 2008 Bob was presented with the Richmond Chamber of Commerce’s Community Service Award. He enjoyed spending time with the Madison County Industrial Management Group.
As an avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed gunsmithing, ballistics, hunting, fishing, skiing and swimming. He was a member of the Richmond Optimist Club and had been a Boy Scout leader and Cub Scout leader.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. A private service will be conducted later.

He was born April 25, 1926, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Cleveland Perkins Sr., and Lena Lowery Perkins.
Mr. Perkins was a member of the Fountain Park Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in WWII and served as constable in the 8th district from 1957-1961. -

She was born on May 6, 1931, in Berea, Kentucky, and lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents, Ella and Harry Lamb. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Oswald Lamb who died when Betty was a child. -
