RICHMOND —

Jan Christine Sefton, 65, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.

She was born May 11, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, to Henry and Harriett Melvin Breejen, both of whom preceded her in death. She received her MA degree in education from Eastern Kentucky University and was a teacher at Lansdowne Elementary School, in Lexington, where she taught art.

Jan is survived by: her husband, David S. Sefton of Richmond; two sons, Steven David Sefton of Dallas, Texas, and Brian James Sefton and his wife Rhonda, of Hebron, Ohio; two precious granddaughters, Paige and Alice Sefton. She also leaves one brother, Daniel Breejen, and his wife Debbie, and one sister, Judith Dine, all of whom reside in Michigan.

A private memorial service has been conducted by the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Markey Cancer Center, UKMC, 800 Rose St., Lexington, KY 40536

Oldham, Roberts and Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Russell Edward Thacker, 87, of Richmond passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013, in the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.
He was born April 12, 1926, in Rockcastle County to Charles and Pearl Day Thacker, both of whom preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine Hutchinson Thacker, and one daughter, Brenda Kay Dargavell.
