Jim Neil, age 79, husband of Norma Neil of Berea, died Friday Oct. 5, 2012, in his home surrounded by his family who loved him dearly.
Known to all who loved him as “Pap,” Jim was born in Waynesburg, Penn., to the late Ray and Lillian Crago Neil. Jim had worked locally as a contractor and builder and owner of Neil Properties, and had worked in Pennsylvania at Penn Line and Coen Oil. Jim loved watching the Pittsburg Steelers, fishing and taking care of his family.
Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years, Norma “Nanny” Moninger Neil, of Berea, and their children: Jody Lynn (Kirk) Baumgardner, Linda Michaelle (Sam) Amon, J Michael (Teresa) Neil and Lori Jean (Kevin) Sizemore. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by one sister Linda Lee Neil.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Butch Pennington officiating. Entombment will be in the Madison County Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Tim Evans, Shane Baumgardner, Seth Neil, Joey Neil, Christopher Howell and Mark Amon. Honorary pallbearers are David Lawniczak, Daniel Lawniczak, Michael Cope, and Stuart Taylor.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born April 25, 1926, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Cleveland Perkins Sr., and Lena Lowery Perkins.
Mr. Perkins was a member of the Fountain Park Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in WWII and served as constable in the 8th district from 1957-1961. -

She was born on May 6, 1931, in Berea, Kentucky, and lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents, Ella and Harry Lamb. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Oswald Lamb who died when Betty was a child. -
