Curtis Elliott, 79


Curtis Lee Elliott of Pioneer Drive in Richmond passed away Monday, November 23, 2009, in Saint Joseph East Hospital in Lexington.

Curtis was born May 14, 1930, in Bell County, Ky., to the late Simon and Sarah Pearl Elliott. He retired from Westinghouse/Phillip Lighting County and was a member of the Holiness faith. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.

He is survived by: his wife, Jean A. Elliott of Richmond; two sons, Thomas Lee (Novella) Elliott and Curtis Mikel (Janet) Elliott both of Berea; stepson, Darrell Wayne (Christie) Hager of Mt. Vernon; six siblings, Joyce (Carter) Wilson of Bell County, Shirley Taylor of Bell County, Patsy (Don) Wells of Richmond, Carolyn (Harold) Prindle of Blanchester, Ohio, Ronnie (Frances) Elliott of Bell County, and Cathy (Barry) Schuster of Amelia, Ohio; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one stepson, Russell Hager; one sister, Emogene Elliott; one brother, Jimmy Elliott; and one great-grandchild, Kendra Johnson.

The family would like to recognize his niece Tammy Lancaster for the special care she gave to him.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Lakes Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Oplinger and Bro. Don Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday after 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Danny Holland, Robbie Griffin, Joe Bussell, Kyle Wilson, Orville Shanks and Ronnie Ford.
