George Thomas Jr., “Junebug,” 54, passed away Thursday in his home, surrounded by family and close friends.
George was preceded in death by: his father, George Thomas Sr.
He is survived by: his mother, Alma Miller; his wife of 20 years, Judy Gail Thomas; three brothers, Dale Thomas (Connie), Audi Thomas (Becky) and Damon Thomas (Tina); five sisters, Christina Land (Charles), Lucy Miller, Evelyn Miller, Tammy Hayes (Allen) and Johanna Ray (Tim); he also leaves behind four children, Lori Wood (Bobby), Angel Bishop (Jack), Billie Masters (Roger) and Willie Isaacs (Amanda); 11 grandchildren; seven very special great-grandchildren, Doodlebug, Austin, Kaylee, Abby, Leila, Clara and Mercedez; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Cecil Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Bobby Brooks, Lucas Shanks, Gary Wasson, Willie Shanks, Jack Bishop III. Honorary pallbearers will be David R. Jones, Jack Bishop Jr., Wayne Davis, Corey Bowling, Harold Jones, Billy Isaacs, Gary Asher and Dean Blackburn.
