Lou Marie Lakes, 75, wife of Fred Lakes went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, in her home in Berea.
Lou was retired from Berea College, where she was director for planned giving. She was a member of the Berea Baptist Church and a loving mother and wife. She was born in Laurel County to the late William Robert and Ella Marcum Sensabaugh.
Lou is survived by her husband, Fred Lakes; daughter Sandy (Stephen) Moore; son, Stephen Randall Lakes, all of Berea; one granddaughter, LaRussa Lakes, and several nieces and nephews. Lou was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lakes will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Lakes Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Slemp officiating. Burial will be in the Berea Cemetery.
