Ann Botkins, 63

Ann Botkins, 63, of Boone Street in Berea, died Sunday Nov. 1, 2009, in the St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.

Ann was a homemaker, loving and devoted mother and a member of the Liberty Avenue Full Gospel Outreach Church. She also was a loving wife to Andrew B. Botkins Jr., “Junie.” The daughter of the late Earl and Lucy Roark Saylor, she was preceded in death by siblings Shelby Jean Saylor, Paul Earl Saylor and Kathleen Saylor.

Ann also is survived by her children: Herman Wayne Botkins of Denver, Colo., Melinda Renea Botkins (Chris) Kendrick of Berea, Dorothy Ann (Wayne) Smith of Mt. Vernon, Carol Jean Murphy of Burlington, Cora Sue Mills of Ohio, Charles Earl Murphy of London, Ky., Sharon K. Allen of Berea, Gregory K. Botkins of Berea, and Andrew Botkins III of Richmond, Ky.

Her two sisters, Verna Mae Mullins of Midland, Ohio, and Nina Sue Speed of Arkansas; her grandchildren: Jared Kendrick, Wade Kendrick, Michael Smith, Vanessa Smith, Ashley Murphy, Blake Williams, Travis Murphy, Tyler Meyer, Joshua Murphy, Heather Murphy, Tara Smith, Brittany Smith and Christina Mills also survive Ann. She also is survived by her six step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday Nov. 5, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Liberty Avenue Full Gospel Outreach Church with the Rev. Don Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.

Pallbearers will be Mike Smith, Jared and Wade Kendrick, Travis Murphy, Tyler Meyer, Josh Murphy, and Jeff Whittemore.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, after 6 p.m. at the Liberty Avenue Full Gospel Outreach Church. Lakes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online register book at www.lakesfuneralhome.com.
