Larry Stone, 56

Larry C. Stone, 56, of Barberry Lane in Berea, lost his battle with lung cancer Tuesday, October 27, 2009. He passed at home surrounded by his loving family. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 1 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2009, at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea, Ky.

Larry was born to the late Jesse and Kathryn Marks Stone and grew up in Oriskany Falls, New York. He was founder and co-owner of Stone and Son Home Improvements in Berea which his son Larry Jr. will continue to operate. Larry will be remembered for his loving smile, generous spirit and the joy he took in helping others.

He is survived by: his loving wife, Susan Lucker Stone; three children, Heather Bernard (and husband Darrel), Larry Stone and Joshua Stone; three sisters, Lois White, Mary Coones (and husband David) and Eileen Parslow (and husband Robert); one brother, Jerry Stone (and wife Kathy); three grandchildren, Jessica Stone, Zachary Bernard and Stephanie Bernard. He is also survived by: brother-in-law, James Lucker (and wife Sandy); brothers-in-law, Walton Dauchy and Daniel Paul; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by: one sister, Doris Dauchy; and two sisters-in-law, Sally Lucker and Sandra Paul.

    Robert was born in Utica, N.Y., to the late Jerry and Ada Waite Lewis.
