Berenice Estridge Robbins was born the daughter of William Bidge and Alza Hayes Estridge on June 10, 1916, in Berea, Kentucky.
Berenice attended Knapp Hall elementary school, Berea High School and then graduated from Berea College in 1938. She married Dr. Ballard Robbins and had one son, William Breckenridge Robbins, who lives in Westlake, Ohio.
She was a member of the Berea Baptist Church and was a Kentucky Colonel. She was very active in church activities in her early years. Berenice was a life-long homemaker who had many interests and loved to travel. She retired from many social clubs, including the Younger Women’s Club, which she helped to start in the 1940s, the Progress Club, Lioness Club, Rotary Club and others. She served as president and board member for many of these.
She was a world traveler, visiting more than 20 countries with France and Germany as her favorites. She took many trips within the United States and visited all the states. She was interested in flowers, and always had many different ones around the house. Berenice liked to walk and went to the college track daily to keep fit until her mid 80s.
She worked on many charity programs during her life and was chairman of American Heart Association, American Cancer Society in the 1950s and 1960s. She was a sports fan and followed the games of her son, Breck, in baseball. She was a UK basketball fan and attended their games when her husband was alive.
Other than her son, Breck, she is survived by a niece, Donna Campbell of Danville, and two nephews, Doug Estridge of Mt. Vernon and Glenn Estridge of Clarksburg, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a younger brother, Gilbert Estridge.
Funeral services for Mrs. Robbins will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2013, at Davis & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Slemp officiating. Burial will follow in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until the hour of service. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Salvation Army.

He was born April 25, 1926, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Cleveland Perkins Sr., and Lena Lowery Perkins.
Mr. Perkins was a member of the Fountain Park Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in WWII and served as constable in the 8th district from 1957-1961. -

She was born on May 6, 1931, in Berea, Kentucky, and lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents, Ella and Harry Lamb. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Oswald Lamb who died when Betty was a child. -
