Sherri White, 47

RICHMOND — Sherri Lynn Mason White, 47, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at her home in Richmond.

Born Sept. 30, 1964, the daughter of the late Robert “Red” and Judith “Judy” Anne Mason of Madison County, she was of the Baptist faith having been baptized at an early age at the Grace Missionary Baptist Church.

Sherri was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University having earned a degree in psychology. Her degree led her to work at the Cardinal House, Berea.

She also was a published author in the field of mental health.

She will be remembered by many for her love of animals, especially cats.

Ms. White is survived by her brother, Jerry (Theresa) Mason, Lumberton, N.J.; two sisters, Lana (Bryan) Heckman, Union; Curry Leann Williams, Richmond; her longtime companion, Wayne Flannery, Richmond; an uncle, Marvin (Effie) Mason, Richmond; and her nieces and nephews, Thomas Whittaker, Jennifer Gillispie, Alexis Gillispie, Jonathan Mason, Melanie Tribble, Matthew Burns, Brianne Mason and Brittany Mason.

In addition to her parents, Sherri was preceded in death by two sisters, Carla Denise Sisk and Lora Page Mason.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m., Monday, July 16, 2012, at Fritz and Turpin Funeral Home with a “Celebration of Life” service following the visitation beginning at 7 p.m. Rev. Marcus Jones and Rev. Charlotte Gilbert will be officiating the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Madison County Animal Shelter, US Highway 25, Berea, KY 40403.
