RICHMOND —
Charles Edward “Charlie” Burruss, 73, of Richmond, went to heaven Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, in his home.
Born Jan. 17, 1940, in Clark County, Ky., he was the son of Eldon T. and Goldie Crowe Burruss, both of whom preceded him in death.
Charlie had been an electrician and had worked at and retired from Square D Company after 38 years of dedicated service. He had received an honorable discharge for his service in the Army National Reserves. He was a proud member of Durbin Memorial Baptist Church. Charlie enjoyed several hobbies, fishing, golfing, gardening and most recently playing the steel guitar.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Nancy C. Goins Burruss, three loving children and one special stepdaughter. Survivors include: one son, Charles Michael (Lareesa) of Versailles; three daughters, Missie Burruss of Nashville, Sharon McKinney of Richmond, Barsha Rogers (Fred) of Richmond; one brother, Kenneth Burruss (Libby). He had five grandchildren, Austin Burruss, Christopher and Sara McKinney, Cory and Alex Rogers, as well as two great-grandchildren, Landen and Cameron McKinney. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and his two precious Yorkies, Sassy and Candi.
In addition to his parents, Eldon and Goldie, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol René, and one sister, Imogene Corum.
Services for Charlie will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Bro. Ray Van Camp officiating. He will be laid to rest in Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mike and Austin Burruss, Christopher McKinney, Fred, Cory and Alex Rogers. Honorary bearers will be Sara McKinney and Tobby Isaacs.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Durbin Memorial Baptist Church, 8650 Durbin Lane, Lexington, KY 40515.

He was born April 25, 1926, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Cleveland Perkins Sr., and Lena Lowery Perkins.
Mr. Perkins was a member of the Fountain Park Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in WWII and served as constable in the 8th district from 1957-1961. -

She was born on May 6, 1931, in Berea, Kentucky, and lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents, Ella and Harry Lamb. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Oswald Lamb who died when Betty was a child. -
