Dortha Hurley Parker, born Feb. 26, 1927, died March 12, 2013, after a long illness.

Dortha was married April 27, 1946, to Clyde Parker, and she was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 65 years in May 2011.

Dortha also was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Dora Hurley; one sister, Laura Hurley Gabbard; and two nieces.

Dortha is survived by: her sister, Anna Hurley (Jack) Hale, two nieces and four nephews. She also is survived by a special neighbor, friend and caregiver, Bertha Croucher and two special caregivers, Robin Gadd and Regina White.

Dortha and Clyde lived in Ohio until 1984 ,when they moved back to Kentucky to help with the care of her mother. She was a very good housekeeper and seamstress who loved to needlework. She was a member of the Silver Creek Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Hisle officiating. Burial will be in the Berea Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Shoemaker, Kenneth Parker, Glyndon Williams, Mike Robinson, Jerry Abrams, Billy Linville and Donnie Hale.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
