Thomas ‘Tommy’ French, 57

RICHMOND —

Thomas “Tommy” French, 57, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 26, 2013.

He was born in Madison County, Ky., on July 19, 1955, the son of the late E.B. and Charlene Laur’ant French. He was an automotive mechanic and the owner of French’s Auto Service.

Tommy will be greatly missed by his wife of 41 years, Connie Kelley French.

He leaves behind: two daughters, Sherri Michelle Buckler (Tommy) of Richmond and Shawna Faye Smith (Jerry) of Mayfield; two grandsons, Sean and Matthew Buckler; one granddaughter, Sydney Michelle Smith; his brother, Byron French of Winchester; his sister, Jane French of Richmond; his mother-in-law, O’Della Flanagan; a host of nieces and nephews, some who are special, Joe David Turner, Thomas Daniel and James David Turner; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Johns officiating.

Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Monday at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Buckler, Sean Buckler, Jerry Smith, Joe Turner, James David Turner, Tommy Turner and Lonnie Kelley Jr.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses.

    He was born April 12, 1926, in Rockcastle County to Charles and Pearl Day Thacker, both of whom preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine Hutchinson Thacker, and one daughter, Brenda Kay Dargavell.
