Eugene T. Parks, 91

Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home

RICHMOND — Eugene T. “Gene” Parks, 91, widower of Edith Biggerstaff Parks, died Thursday morning, March 14, 2013, at The Terrace nursing facility.

Mr. Parks was born June 1, 1921, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Richard F. and Lucy Jones Parks.

He was a retired farmer and former funeral home attendant at Turpin Funeral Home. He also served his country as a soldier with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Mr. Parks is survived by: one son, Wayne Parks (Reeta), Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Connie Adams, Richmond; four brothers, Paul Parks, Harold Parks (Nina), Clay Parks (Irma) and Charles Parks (Shirley); four sisters, Ann Christen, Sue Slagle (Bill), Lucy Reams (Jr.) and Mary Lee Webb (Gene); four grandchildren, Kari Maloney (Steve), Lexington; Lindsey Wagner (Christopher), Portland, Ore.; Lesley Parks, Berlin, Germany; and Jackson Parks, Nashville, Tenn.; and one great-grandson, Deacon Maloney.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers: John S., Ed, Andrew, and Mariel Parks; and one sister: Ethelene Cahill.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Richmond Cemetery, with Rob Taylor officiating.

Following the service, a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Heritage House, 189 Meridian Way, Richmond, Ky., 40475.

The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Cleveland “June” Perkins Jr., 87, husband of 63 years to Ima Jean Horn Perkins, died Monday, May 20, 2013.
    He was born April 25, 1926, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Cleveland Perkins Sr., and Lena Lowery Perkins.
    Mr. Perkins was a member of the Fountain Park Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in WWII and served as constable in the 8th district from 1957-1961.

    She was born on May 6, 1931, in Berea, Kentucky, and lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents, Ella and Harry Lamb. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Oswald Lamb who died when Betty was a child.

    Mary Arlene Hatton Lange, 73, formerly of Richmond, widow of John Stone Lange, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the St. Joseph East hospital.
    Mrs. Lange was born in Winchester, Ky., on Sept. 18, 1939, to the late J.B. and Ruth Esther Black Hatton.

    She was born on March 16, 1926 in Laurel County, the youngest of five children, born to the late William Albert and Nora Bowman Warren.
