RICHMOND —
Jack Burford, 85, husband of Roberta Bassett Burford, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, in the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.
He was born January 9, 1928, in Owen County to the late Thomas C. and Christian Watson Burford.
Jack was retired owner and operator of Jack Burford Chevrolet. He was a Army veteran of the Korean War. He loved his family, University of Kentucky basketball, Chevrolet automobiles, and he also enjoyed traveling.
In addition to his loving wife, Roberta, he is survived by his son, John (Samantha) Burford, and one daughter, Cathy (Raymond) Cornelison, both of Richmond; three brothers, Lewis Hilton Burford of Lexington, Franklin Watson Burford of Owenton and Eugene Clark Burford of Versailles. He also is survived by four grandchildren: John Cornelison, Makenzie Burford, Mallory Burford and Marley Burford.
Funeral services for Jack will be conducted 1 p.m., Friday Feb. 15, 2013, at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Fort officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Hamilton, Joe Kidwell, Barney Kinman, Benjy Kinman, Lloyd Vannarsdall and Frank Shoop. Joe Kirkpatrick will be an honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday Feb. 14, 2013, at the funeral home.

Cleveland “June” Perkins Jr., 87, husband of 63 years to Ima Jean Horn Perkins, died Monday, May 20, 2013.
He was born April 25, 1926, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Cleveland Perkins Sr., and Lena Lowery Perkins.
Mr. Perkins was a member of the Fountain Park Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in WWII and served as constable in the 8th district from 1957-1961. -

She was born on May 6, 1931, in Berea, Kentucky, and lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents, Ella and Harry Lamb. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Oswald Lamb who died when Betty was a child. -
