Lina Johnson Rennix, 102

Richmond

RICHMOND — Lina Johnson Rennix, 102, of Richmond, the widow of Howard Rennix, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013, in Telford Terrace.

She was born September 12, 1910, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late T.L. and Elizabeth Seaborn Johnson. Mrs. Rennix, a retired retailer, had owned and operated a grocery store in Sand Gap, a general store in Berea and a clothing store in Richmond. She was a member of the Lancaster Road Church of God and of the Silver Creek Homemakers.

She is survived by: a daughter, Freda Wilson (Walter) of Lexington; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Gibbon (Mike) of LaGrange, Ga., Howard Wilson (Freda) of Albany, Ky., and Harold David Wilson (Sheila) of Nashville; great-grandchildren, Chris Clark (Wendee) of Richmond and Brittany Wilson of Albany, Ky.; great-great-grandchildren, Rylee Elizabeth Clark and Reagan Ann Clark, both of Richmond.

Also surviving is a sister, Lillie Harrison, and a brother, Johnny R. Johnson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mable R. Benge, and son-in-law, Harold Benge; three sisters, Bonnie Pennington, Verna Harrison and Georgia Powell; one brother, Tony Johnson; and one great grandchild, Grant Rennix Wilson.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013, at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with her grandson, the Rev. Howard Joseph Wilson, officiating, assisted by Eugene Ballard.

Burial will follow in Madison County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jerry and Jesse Abrams, Benny Boggs, Steve Pennington, David and Joe Pennington, Jerry Powell and Chris Clark.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Silver Creek Homemakers, Alpha Lawson and Jewell Ballard.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Telford Terrace or to Hospice Care Plus
