Bertha Lovett Coffey, 84

Bertha Lovett Coffey, 84, widow of Lloyd Estill Coffey, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013, at Central Baptist Hospital.

Born in Richmond, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Lizzie Keene Lovett. She was a homemaker and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of Providence Christian Church.

Survivors include: her son, Earl Coffey (Ada), Indianapolis, Ind.; daughter, Barbara Massie (Billy), of Lexington; six grandchildren, Mark and Matt Coffey, Robert Lanasa, Donna Remeika, Lori Lane, and William Miller; 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers, eight sisters and a granddaughter, Linda Lee “Sissy” Coffey.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Kerr Brothers-Main Street, Lexington, with burial following in Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Russell Edward Thacker, 87, of Richmond passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013, in the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.
He was born April 12, 1926, in Rockcastle County to Charles and Pearl Day Thacker, both of whom preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine Hutchinson Thacker, and one daughter, Brenda Kay Dargavell.
