Leslie Stamper, 64

RICHMOND — Leslie Stamper, 64, husband of Nancy Rawlins Stamper, died Monday, December 24, 2012, in the VA Hospital of Lexington.

Mr. Stamper was born November 21, 1947, in Lee County, Ky., the son of the late Walter and Anna Gross Stamper. He worked for the Pepsi Co. for 17 years and retired from Ale-8-One Bottling Company. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: one son, William L. Stamper (Rhonda), Richmond; six brothers, Doug Stamper (Bonnie), Virgil Stamper (Sara), Dewy Stamper (Loraine), Londus Stamper (Pat), Jimmy Stamper (Julie), all of Richmond; and Walter Stamper, Berea; one sister: Carol Kelley (Danny), Maryville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Bryce L.W. Stamper and Kayla J. Stamper; and great-granddaughter Tristann Nichole Stamper.

Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m., Friday, December 28, 2012, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Pastor David Lamb officiating.

Burial will follow in Madison County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Randall Rawlins, Wayne Oliver, Steve Winkler, Bryce Stamper, Austin Oliver and Scott Haddix.

    He was born April 12, 1926, in Rockcastle County to Charles and Pearl Day Thacker, both of whom preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine Hutchinson Thacker, and one daughter, Brenda Kay Dargavell.
