Gay Childers “Jean” Brockman, 79, the widow of Frank L. Brockman, passed away Saturday morning at Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Brockman was born July 16, 1930, in Gallatin County, the daughter of the late Carlisle and Louise Godman Childers. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: three sons, Eddie Hemingway of Madison, Ind., Danny Ben Worley of Corbin and Jimmy Lewis Brockman; two daughters, Louise Ritchie of Frankfort and Jackie Brockman Bohannon of Lexington; one brother, Kenneth Cox of Texas; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren,great great-grandchildren and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by: two daughters, Carolyn Hemingway and Orpha Jean Hemingway; and a sister, Jacqueline Jones.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Richmond Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
