Hazel Cuzick, 88

RICHMOND — Hazel Cuzick, 88, of Richmond, widow of Philip B. Cuzick, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2012 in Compassionate Care Center.

She was born in Madison County, Ky., on Feb. 17, 1924, the daughter of Vernon and Effie Smyth Abney. She was a homemaker who was a big gardener and enjoyed raising flowers.

Survivors include: her son, Glenn Cuzick (Janet) of Richmond; her daughter, Phyllis Williams (Byron) of Lexington; three grandchildren, Tony Cuzick (Melanie), Jesse Cuzick and Amy Ottesen (Eddie); two great-grandchildren, Maddie and Chrissy Cuzick.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil, Hisel and Virgil Abney; and one sister, Bertie Perkins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. www.cpcfh.com

    Cleveland “June” Perkins Jr., 87, husband of 63 years to Ima Jean Horn Perkins, died Monday, May 20, 2013.
    He was born April 25, 1926, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Cleveland Perkins Sr., and Lena Lowery Perkins.
    Mr. Perkins was a member of the Fountain Park Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in WWII and served as constable in the 8th district from 1957-1961.

    She was born on May 6, 1931, in Berea, Kentucky, and lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents, Ella and Harry Lamb. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Oswald Lamb who died when Betty was a child.

    Mrs. Lange was born in Winchester, Ky., on Sept. 18, 1939, to the late J.B. and Ruth Esther Black Hatton.
