Duane ‘Wink’ Winkler, 66

LEXINGTON — Duane “Wink” Winkler, 66, husband of Sharon G. Marcum, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Central Baptist Hospital.

He was born Feb. 23, 1946, in Lexington, the son of the late Vernon and Juanita Winkler.

Mr. Winkler was a 1964 graduate of Lafayette High School and attended the University of Kentucky. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and had worked in a variety of retail sales. He was an avid golfer and UK fan, and he never met a stranger.  

In addition to his wife, survivors include: a daughter, Danya H. Winkler (Shawn Settle), Richmond, Ky.; step-daughter, Stephanie V. Cason (James), Versailles, Ky.; grandchildren, Paetyn Settle and Amanda and Alex Cason; his special dog, Gretchen; and many wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, Ky. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4 to 7 pm Sunday and 12:30 pm Monday until service time at the funeral home.

    Mr. Perkins was a member of the Fountain Park Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in WWII and served as constable in the 8th district from 1957-1961.

    She was born on May 6, 1931, in Berea, Kentucky, and lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents, Ella and Harry Lamb. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Oswald Lamb who died when Betty was a child.

    Mrs. Lange was born in Winchester, Ky., on Sept. 18, 1939, to the late J.B. and Ruth Esther Black Hatton.
