RICHMOND —
Larry Dean Farthing, 61, of Berea, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27 2012, in the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Larry was born in Richmond, on March 24, 1951, to the late Herman and Emogene Cole Farthing. He was a self-employed electrician and a member of the Richmond House of Prayer. Larry was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed playing the Pedal Steel Guitar.
Larry is survived by his son Larry Michael Farthing (Melinda); his daughter Sara LeAnn Farthing; their mother Martha Farthing; one grandchild Morgan LeAnn Farthing; four sisters Brenda Parke, Joan Charles (Ray), Sharon Green and Faye Logsdon; five brothers Leon Farthing (Sarah), Charles Farthing, Garry Farthing (Connie), Randall Farthing (Mary) and Dwight David Farthing (Charlotte), several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister Ruth Ann Farthing; and four brothers Kenneth, Arnold Oneal, James Tilman and Manuel Farthing.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at the Richmond House of Prayer, 330 Mule Shed Lane, with Bro. Owen Moody officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday at the Church.
Pallbearers will be Larry Michael Farthing, Adam Saylor, Eric Saylor, Anthony Dickerson, Jeff Whittamore and Harvey Logsdon.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dan & Lorene Watson, Butch Northern, Harold Mason, Ronnie Lakes, Tim Adams, Barry Kelly, Ken Farmer and Frank Flynn.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Larry to God’s Outreach – Madison County Food Bank, 1512 East Main St., Richmond.
