RICHMOND —
Lois Cain Arthur, 91, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 in the Telford Terrace in Richmond.
For most of her life she lived in Bybee, on the farm where she was born on April 19, 1921, to the late Peyton and Beulah Hendren Cain. She was a graduate of Waco High School and of Berea College. While a senior at Berea College, in 1942, she married James M. Arthur, who was also a senior there. She served the community as a public school teacher for 21 years, mostly in the Richmond City School district.
For as long as she was able, she was an active member of First Baptist Church of Richmond, the Madison County Retired Teachers Association, and the Kentucky Retired Teachers’ Association. As a Baptist, she had been church clerk, Sunday school teacher, leaders of the G.A.’s, and Youth Director for the Tates Creek Baptist Association.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan Arthur, of Durham, N.C.; one son, J. Daniel Arthur of La Vegas, Nev.; three grandchildren, John Allan Sutton of Eminence, Ky., Amy Sutton Forbes of Seattle, Wash. and Jacob Arthur of Richmond; three sisters, Mrs. E. D. (Jean) Mitchell of Lawrenceville, Ga., Mrs. H. J. (Darlene) Sterrette of Grand Bay, Ala., and Thelma Webb of Richmond Ky., as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Services will be conducted at noon on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Fort officiating. Burial will follow at Flatwoods Cemetery at Waco. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Wendell Woolum, Ben McPherson, George Ridings, Eugene Peck, Toby Honaker, Dianna Ackerman, Irving Whicker, and Tom Bratcher. Honorary bearers will be members of the BYKOTA Sunday school class of First Baptist Church.

Cleveland “June” Perkins Jr., 87, husband of 63 years to Ima Jean Horn Perkins, died Monday, May 20, 2013.
He was born April 25, 1926, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Cleveland Perkins Sr., and Lena Lowery Perkins.
Mr. Perkins was a member of the Fountain Park Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in WWII and served as constable in the 8th district from 1957-1961. -

She was born on May 6, 1931, in Berea, Kentucky, and lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents, Ella and Harry Lamb. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Oswald Lamb who died when Betty was a child. -
