Grace Powell Scenters, 85

Pilot Knob Cemetery

Estill Co. — Grace Powell Scenters, 85, widow of Albert Scenters, passed away Tuesday,

Jan. 22, 2013, in the St. Joseph Hospital in Berea.

She was born June 24, 1927, in Estill Co., to the late George Powell and Sallie Powell. Granny Grace was a homemaker all of her life, and enjoyed crocheting and cooking for her family.  

Survivors include her daughter: Donna Baker (Danny), seven grandchildren: Roy Cox (Sherri), LaDonna Dawes (Gary), Tim Coffey, Anthony Cox, Alisya Shouse (Tim), Marilyn Baker, and Daniel Baker (Ashley); six great grandchildren: Ashley Simpson (Ethan), Brandon Coffey, Tiffany Perkins, Jessica Dawes, Amber Locker, and Gabbrielle Cox; Three great grandchildren: Chevy Coffey, Brayden Baker, and Eli Coffey;  three sisters: Ethel Willis, Susie Dixon (Johnny), and Lula Dixon (Bill); and two special friends: Mitch Locker and Victoria Todd.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son: George Wesley Scenters, one daughter: Madeline Cox as well as her son-in-law: Roy E. Cox; four sisters and three brothers.

At the wishes of Granny Grace; graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Pilot Knob Cemetery, with Bro. Owen Moody officiating.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Baker, Mitch Locker, Lonnie Centers, Gary Dawes and Dennis Coffey.

    Cleveland “June” Perkins Jr., 87, husband of 63 years to Ima Jean Horn Perkins, died Monday, May 20, 2013.
    He was born April 25, 1926, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Cleveland Perkins Sr., and Lena Lowery Perkins.
    Mr. Perkins was a member of the Fountain Park Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in WWII and served as constable in the 8th district from 1957-1961.

    She was born on May 6, 1931, in Berea, Kentucky, and lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents, Ella and Harry Lamb. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Oswald Lamb who died when Betty was a child.

    Mrs. Lange was born in Winchester, Ky., on Sept. 18, 1939, to the late J.B. and Ruth Esther Black Hatton.
