Larry Alvin Sharpe, 65, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at his home. Mr. Sharpe was born Feb. 9, 1947, in Fayette County, the son of Robert and Norma Ware Sharpe. He was a Journeyman Electrician for IBEW, Vietnam War Veteran and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed sports; especially UK basketball, and music. He was an artist who specialized in charcoal sketches and painting.
He is survived by his wife: Shirley Ann Davis Sharpe of Berea; two daughters: Angela Huber (Jeff), of Denver, Colo. and Carisa Searcy (Lee), of Nicholasville; his mother, Norma Sharpe, of Williamstown; one step-son: Tink Simpson of Berea; two step-daughters, Rosanna Simpson-Cupp (Mark), of Middletown, Ohio; Julia K. Simpson-Sotomayor (Kelby), of Berea; two brothers, David Sharpe (Lynn) and Kevin Sharpe (Debbie), of Lexington; one sister, Sandy Brown (Ben), of Williamstown; 15 Grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Sharpe; and step-daughter: Candy M. Simpson.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Terry officiating. Entombment will follow in Madison Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11a.m. -1 p.m. Tuesday at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.
