RICHMOND —
Allene Mae Tackett, 84, widow of William Leslie Tackett, passed away Thursday Nov. 8, 2012, in her home following a long illness.
Mrs. Tackett was born on Jan. 4, 1928 in Madison County to the late Woody and Lona Mae Dickerson Walden. She was a very giving, caring and loving mother who gave her all to her husband and family. She was a member of the Waco Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter Linda Gibbs (Archie), of Richmond; her son Mason Wayne Tackett (LaGonda), Davenport, Fla.; one sister Beatrice Reams, of Richmond; five grandchildren Darcy Salyers (Dave), Leslie Allene Horn (David), Gregory Nelson Tackett, Chris Tackett and Sarah Beth Tackett; and three great-grandchildren: Zachary Romans, Danielle Horn and Luke Horn.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son Nelson Ray Tackett; and four brothers Sherman, Ramsey, Tom and Walter Walden.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tackett will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, with Chaplain Jim Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home.

Cleveland “June” Perkins Jr., 87, husband of 63 years to Ima Jean Horn Perkins, died Monday, May 20, 2013.
He was born April 25, 1926, in Madison County, Ky., the son of the late Cleveland Perkins Sr., and Lena Lowery Perkins.
Mr. Perkins was a member of the Fountain Park Church of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in WWII and served as constable in the 8th district from 1957-1961. -

She was born on May 6, 1931, in Berea, Kentucky, and lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents, Ella and Harry Lamb. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Oswald Lamb who died when Betty was a child. -
