Darrell Edward “Paw” Johnson, 68, of Cedar Cliff Road, Waco, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2009, after arrival at Saint Joseph Hospital-Berea.
He was born in Madison County, on February 6, 1942, to the late Perry R. and Mae Francis (Hisle) Johnson. He was a retired employee of the former state highway department and was a Holiness evangelistic minister, who enjoyed preaching and ’coon hunting.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his loving wife, Helen (Foster) Johnson of Waco; one daughter, Wilma Gayle Johnson of Waco; three sons, Dwight Johnson (and Nancy), Scott Johnson (and Holly), all of Richmond, and Kenneth Johnson (and Brandi) of Berea; one brother, Charles Douglas Johnson of Richmond; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Marvin VanWinkle officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery at Panola. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Arthur Hoskins, Mike Foster, Wayne Foster, Dwane Mullins and Jamie Smith.
