Lady Eagles roll past North Laurel

BEREA — The Madison Southern girls soccer team prepared for a big district showdown later this week against Madison Central by picking up an easy win on Tuesday at home.

The Lady Eagles scored three goals in the first half on their way to a 4-0 win over North Laurel in Berea.

The Lady Eagles (3-3-1) got the scoring started when Sarah Bryan scored just 10 minutes into the game. Senior Kim Robinson scored the next three goals. She scored mid-way through the first half and again five minutes later. She added her third goal in the second half.

Keepers Makenna Jennings and Katie Scott combined to shut out North Laurel (2-5).

“Despite several injures, we’re playing more as a team,” Southern coach Katy Cress said. “People are playing better in positions they are not used to playing.”

The Eagles take on Madison Central at 6 p.m. Thursday.
