H.S. SWIMMING: Model swimmers post first-place finishes

RICHMOND — Model Laboratory swimmers posted four first-place finishes Wednesday during a double dual meet at EKU with Dunbar and Lafayette.

Jaqueline Brochu won the 200 yard IM, Maddy Nasrallah took first place in the 100 yard free, Lauren Shepherd won the 100 yard fly and Cameron Sidor took first place in the 500 yard free.

In the combined team scoring, Model defeated Lafayette, 198-78, but lost to Dunbar, 190-125.

In the boys competition, Model defeated Lafayette, 108-34, and lost to Dunbar, 90-66,

In the girls competition, Model once again defeated Lafayette, 90-45, and lost to Dunbar, 100-59.

The Patriots took second place in all three boys relay events — the 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free. The Lady Patriots placed second in both the 200 medley and 400 free relay.

Shepherd also finished second in the 100 yard back and Nasrallah took third in the 50-yard free.

Sidor also finished third in the 200 yard free.

Other top finishers for the Patriots included: James Schwartz (second in 200 free and 100 fly), Jackson Parker (second in 200 IM, third in 100 breast), Jack Miller (second in 100 free and third in 200 IM), Logan Jackson (second in 500 free), Sam Shepherd (second in the 100 back) and Koty Stroschein (third in 100 back).

Other top finishers for the Lady Patriots included: Christina Schwartz (second in 500 free and third in the 200 free), Kate Walters (second in 100 breast) and Miriam Cahill (third in the 100 breast).

Model is set to return to action next Wednesday at EKU against Tates Creek and Henry Clay.
