The Colonels (15-4, 5-1 OVC) return home to take on the top two teams in the OVC East Division this week beginning with today’s game with Tennessee State, then a rematch with Belmont on Saturday.

The Colonels are in third place in the East behind the Bruins and Tigers, who enter today’s game with a 12-8 overall record and a 6-1 conference mark, with the only loss coming to Belmont last Saturday.
EKU is coming off a 73-62 win over Jacksonville State in which its defense limited the Gamecocks to 31 percent shooting, the lowest by any opponent this year. The Colonels also forced Jacksonville State into 10 turnovers in the game.
Corey Walden and Mike DiNunno both had career-high scoring nights against the Gamecocks. Walden had a game-high 28 points, while DiNunno had 24 points.
The Colonels were without leading scorer Glenn Cosey and also Orlando Williams against Jacksonville State. Cosey has missed four games with a broken finger and Williams was injured late in the loss to Belmont.
The Colonels will be looking to keep their McBrayer Arena season-long 10-game winning streak alive this weekend.
EKU is ranked 18th in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top-25, down one spot from last week. The Colonels lowered their NCAA RPI ranking from 92 to 71 this week. Tennessee State has an RPI of 101.
The Tigers started the season 5-7 but have won seven of their past games, with their only loss to Belmont.
Tennessee State is led by junior guard Patrick Miller is averaging 18 points per game against OVC competition, while Thornton, a 6-foot-7 forward, is averaging 16 points and 11 rebounds in conference play.
The Colonels lead the all-time series with the Tigers 27-24 and have won five of the past seven games between the two. EKU is 15-11 against TSU at McBrayer Arena.
