The Lady Patriots bounced back from their only loss of the season with a big win Monday at home.
Sophomore Hayley Hunt had 13 points as Model Laboratory defeated the Kentucky School for the Deaf, 52-16, in Richmond. The Lady Patriots (3-1) got 10 points from Darrian Botts and seven points from Kasi Schneid.
Model opened the season with wins last week at home over Estill County (57-37) and Oneida Baptist (69-35), before falling Saturday on the road against Sayre (49-41).
The Lady Patriots scored the first 21 points of the game and were in complete control against KSD. At halftime, they had a 29-9 lead.
Model put together a 15-0 run in the second half to take a 46-11 lead.
Mallie Cornett and Abby Vicars each had six points, Emily Jackson and Chloe Dyer had four points each and Charity Mack had two points.
Model shot 39 percent from the field and was six-of-six from the free throw line. The Lady Patriots had 15 assists and 14 steals.
Botts, a junior guard, saw her first action of the season after missing the opening week with an ankle injury.
The Lady Patriots are back in action at 7:30 p.m. today at home against Burgin.

YOUTH LEAGUES: Signups for leagues underway
The Richmond Little League will begin sign-ups for this year’s fall season on Saturday, June 1 from 10 a.m. to noon.
Sign-ups are also scheduled for Monday, June 3 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to noon. -
BOWLING: Shearer wins seniors tourney
Fifteen bowlers took to the lanes for the second monthly seniors tournament on May 19.
Beverly Shearer finished on top with a handicapped score of 753 for three games, which earned her the first place prize of $57. -
