Bad Bowlers No-Tap League

April Brumfield bowled a no-tap 300 game on the opening night of this league last Tuesday!

While this is in no way the equivalent to a 300 game with standard scoring (in addition to regular strikes, nine pins down with the first ball in a frame counts as a strike in no-tap leagues), it is a significant accomplishment and difficult to achieve.

There have been only three “perfect” games bowled in the Bad Bowlers League since this league first went to the no-tap format in the summer of 2010. David Robinson bowled the other two no-tap 300 games in the spring of 2011.

It was evident that Ms. Brumfield felt some pressure after rolling nine strikes in a row as the other league bowlers were cheering her on.

She had to step off the lane a couple times before starting the 10th frame to compose herself, then finished with a regular strike and two no-tap strikes to complete her 300 game.

Steve Dickey led the men with a 265 game and 691 series followed by David Robinson at 231 and 633. Ed Maggard also rolled a 600 series (623). Ms. Brumfield’s series score was 655.

HIP League

The Hospitality Industry People League opened its initial season last Wednesday.

Dustin Ray bowled the top scores with a 247 game and 587 series followed by Matthew Ray at 190 and 495.

The high women’s game was 150 by Angel Duncan while Kaitlyn Ray bowled the high women’s series at 410. Ray rolled the second-best game (143) and Duncan the second-highest series (391).
