AUTO RACING: Richmond Raceway Awards Banquet set for Saturday

RICHMOND — Richmond Raceway track promoters Joey and Tiffany Tackett will play host to the 2012 Championship Awards Banquet Saturday at the Best Western Holiday Plaza off the Eastern Bypass in Richmond.

The top five in championship points in each of the track’s five respective divisions will be honored at the banquet. A tentative 2013 race schedule along with other announcements regarding the 2013 season will also be made at the banquet.

The 2012 Championship Awards Banquet is open to the public and race fans are encouraged to attend for an evening of good fellowship and fun with their favorite driver.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids age 10 and under.

Tickets will be sold at the door the night of the banquet, dinner is included in ticket price.

The Best Western Holiday Plaza, the official hotel of Richmond Raceway, is located at Exit 87 off I-75 at 100 Eastern Bypass in Richmond.

Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m. followed by awards presentations.
