The Madison Central boys soccer team recovered from a 2-0 loss to county rival Madison Southern on Thursday with a 1-0 victory Saturday at home against a strong Anderson County team.
Central (3-4) scored its lone goal when Evan Roberts found Austin McAlister open, and McAlister buried the shot for the goal.
Central goalkeeper Ben Durham earned his first shutout of the season.
Anderson County (6-2) entered the game on a four-game winning streak, having scored 12 goals in that span.
It was the first time the Bearcats were shutout this season.
Central plays at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against Boyle County
