Berea falls to Lindsey Wilson
The Lady Mountaineers couldn’t overcome a 16-point halftime deficit, falling to Lindsey Wilson Saturday in the Berea Pepsi Classic at the Seabury Center.
Berea (2-5) was led by newcomers Raven Hunt (12 points), Emily Hinkson (11 points) and Ebony Inskeep (10 points), but the Lady Mountaineers only shot 23.3 percent in the first half and trailed 38-22 at halftime.
The Blue Raiders (5-0) were led by Bethany Spillman with 19 points, Viktoria Krell with 16 points and Sierra Rambert with 13 points. Lindsey Wilson shot 40 percent in the first half and 36.6 percent for the game to remain unbeaten on the year. They scored 32 points off of turnovers.
Berea’s Annbruce Madden chipped in eight points. The Lady Mountaineers committed 27 turnovers and had 12 assists and three steals. They were outrebounded, 53-43, including 23-13 on offensive boards.
The Lady Mountaineers will return to action Tuesday against St. Catharine College in Springfield. Game time is set for 6 p.m.

The Madison Central cheerleading team arrived in Orlando, Fla., focused on competing against some of the top squads from all across the country at the prestigious Universal Cheerleading Association National Championships.
However, very serious distractions quickly arose.
