H.S. HOOPS: Lady Indians top Tates Creek

RICHMOND — The Madison Central Lady Indians picked up a big 56-45 win on the road Tuesday over Tates Creek.

Central led for most of the game and used a third quarter spurt to blow the game open.

The Lady Indians built their lead to as much as 19 points at 50-31 in the fourth quarter before Coach Robbie Cooksie emptied his bench and the Commodores scored nine points late to close the gap.

Central got big games from several players.

Ashton Feldhaus led the way with 25 points on 10-15 shooting from the field and 3-6 from behind the arc. She also pulled down eight rebounds.

Larryn Brooks finished with 17 points, seven rebound, seven assists and three steals.

Shadae Bosley only had three points on the night, but she pulled down seven rebounds and had seven blocks and controlled the paint the entire game.

Heather Hinkle had four points and Emily Fultz finished with five points.

“We played really well. Unlike the previous games we shot the ball very well. We were 23-43 for 53 percent,” Cooksie said. “It  was a good win for us. Any time you go into somebody else’s place and it’s senior night you can expect a real good effort from them and we got it. But we handled it very well.”

Central will be back in action Friday when they take on Dunbar at home at 6 p.m.
