Dakota Gadd scored a pair of second-half goals, as the Madison Southern girls soccer team remained undefeated with a 3-2 victory Thursday night against East Jessamine.
Southern (2-0) took the lead 12 minutes into the game when McKenzie Bicknell stole the ball from the East Jessamine defense and buried a shot past the goalkeeper.
Late in the half, East Jessamine had a breakaway, but Southern goalkeeper Kristyn Murphy came out to make a diving save.
The ball bounced off Murphy right to an East Jessamine player and Murphy blocked the rebound shot to keep Southern ahead 1-0 at halftime.
East Jessamine tied the game three minutes into the second half.
Southern responded 10 minutes later.
Annie Ware took the ball down the left side of the field, crossed to Gadd in the center of the field.
Gadd fired off a quick shot that found the back of the net for a 2-1 lead.
In the 64th minute, Gadd added another goal for a 3-1 lead.
West Jessamine was awarded a penalty kick with no time remaining on the clock, and the shot was good, cutting the lead to 3-2.
Southern returns to action at 6 p.m. Tuesday at home against Lincoln County.

The Model Laboratory girls soccer team dropped to 0-2 on the season, falling at Lincoln County Thursday night, 11-0.
Model has been outscored in its two games 19-1.
The Lady Patriots next play at 5 p.m. Wednesday against Sayre in the first round of the All “A” Classic.
